Description: Kainga Ora (Housing NZ) engaged Te Pae Hākari to reinstate a fire damaged property. This property was significantly damaged from a kitchen fire, and the damage extended through into various parts of the house. Once the work commenced Kainga Ora contacted us as the house was scheduled to be retrofitted in the near future and saw the opportunity to complete both projects at the same time. The tenant was also involved in the redesign of the layout of the house which included removing a wall and creating an open lounge and dinning area, moving wardrobes, renovating the toilet and shower, and completing the previous fire damaged scope of work.

We are most proud of being able to see a whānau return to their home, which had been uninhabitable since early 2021.
